The Secondary Education Services Selection Board (SESSB) recently concluded the selection process for 12,610 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and 2,597 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts in October of last year, as directed by the Supreme Court. Following the completion of the selection process, schools were assigned, and appointment letters were issued to the deserving candidates. However, despite the issuance of appointment letters, a significant number of candidates did not join their assigned positions. To address this issue, the SESSB has decided to recruit candidates from the waiting list to fill the 1,252 vacant TGT posts and 106 vacant PGT posts. The Deputy Education Director Secondary-3, Ramchet, has recently released the list of these vacant positions, providing an opportunity for the waiting list candidates to be considered for appointment.

In response to the continuous agitation and demands from the candidates, the SESSB has been actively working towards ensuring that the waiting list candidates are given appointments to these vacant posts. The candidates have consistently submitted memorandums to the selection board, expressing their concerns and urging for their inclusion in the recruitment process. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the SESSB had previously initiated the process of filling 899 vacant TGT posts from the waiting list under the TGT/PGT-2016 scheme. These candidates are expected to be appointed by April 2023, providing them with a much-awaited opportunity to contribute their skills and expertise in the field of education.

The SESSB’s decision to recruit from the waiting list not only aims to address the issue of vacant positions but also ensures that deserving candidates who have patiently waited for their chance are given fair consideration. By providing these candidates with appointments, the SESSB is taking a step towards maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the recruitment process. It is essential to acknowledge the dedication and perseverance demonstrated by the waiting list candidates throughout this process. Their continuous efforts and advocacy have played a crucial role in highlighting the importance of fair opportunities and transparent selection procedures.

In conclusion, the SESSB’s decision to recruit from the waiting list for the vacant TGT and PGT posts is a positive step towards filling these positions and providing deserving candidates with employment opportunities. The release of the list of vacant posts by the Deputy Education Director Secondary-3 signifies the board’s commitment to addressing the concerns raised by the waiting list candidates.
